Prime Minister
Narendra Modi's necessitates complete makeover of his government. It was long
overdue. There was question mark over efficiency of his ministers. Modi was
seen as a PM, who was perceived to be micromanaging every single action within his government.
On the other hand, all
those ministers, who were perceived to be efficient, were overburdened. Finance minister Arun
Jaitley was under severe strain is not a secret. Given his number-2 status in the government, Rajnath has been seen doing his maximum.Hence, portfolio allocation
and reshuffling of ministries has become a subject of close scrutiny.
Opposition is questioning, Modi’s "minimum government and maximum governance logic."For
sake of opposition, this is a good talking point. It's a fact that government
was not functioning in full steam. Modi's hands were tied. He didn't have
experienced ministers on his side.
Starting from Manohar Parrikar, Suresh Prabhu, Jayant Sinha; all were brought
in by Modi for their sheer genius and values.
Critics are spreading the lies that though, 21 new ministers are being
brought in, Modi will take all decisions.
Governance is all about collective responsibility. PM being head of the
government, is bound to take a second look at the decisions, ministers take.
We are in an age, where every decision taken by the government is accrued to
PM. PM is being questioned when a rape takes place in the farthest part of
the country.
When a train overruns a car or school bus at an unmanned railway crossing, PM
is being questioned.
Law and order, pricerise are some of the issues, which attract immediate
attention and reaction from the common public. With the reach of social media
spreading far and wide, government is prone to more and more criticism.
Ten years back,
government decisions didn't face severe scrutiny.
Time has changed,
running government is important but what is equally significant is perception
of the ruling government.
Modi, no doubt, wants to work in full steam. Now he has an army of able
lieutenants, who will ensure maximum deliverance.
